Superior Animal Healthcare Starts Here We put great importance on experience, continuing education, and utilizing
the latest techniques, equipment, and methodologies to deliver the
finest veterinary care to your companion animal.
Dr. Smalley has practiced veterinary medicine in Eugene, Oregon since 1979. After more than 15 years in the field, she took her significant expertise, reputation, and passion for caring for companion animals to Edgewood Animal Clinic, which she has owned since 1994. In addition to giving her all to the many animals she cares for at the clinic every day, Dr. Smalley devotes time to numerous community causes, from her active participation in the Lane County Veterinary Medical Association to volunteer work with the Community Veterinary Center, Feral Fix and Pro-Bone-O. Dr. Smalley is also one of eight elected regional directors of the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Smalley has a B.A. in anthropology/archeology from the University of Michigan and graduated with honors from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Kimball brings his expertise and reputation in emergency care
to the practice via DoveLewis Animal & Emergency Urgent Care on
the coast, where he devoted two years, as well as from a practice in
Silverton, where he specialized in small animal and equine care for
eight years. While family and the wonderful quality of life brought
him to Eugene, he is also excited about the many opportunities to care
for animals in his areas of interest, including orthopedic and soft
tissue surgery, dentistry, and nutrition — in addition to emergency
care. But no matter what the area of care, Dr. Kimball loves what he
does because he gets to be part of “the amazing bond between people
and their companion animal family members.” And that’s why he earned
his degree and credentials from the Colorado State University Veterinary
School in the first place. Having worked in the veterinary field since 1992, Cindy offers experience
and perspective from both sides of the office: up front as the welcoming
receptionist and behind the scenes as a veterinary assistant. She now
brings those skills together as office manager, something she has done
with finesse since 1997. After 25 years as a veterinarian assistant,
Jaimie now puts that expertise to work as a patient care coordinator.
She especially likes working at Edgewood Animal Clinic, “Because we
truly care for the people who care for their pets.”
Brandy is the smiling face you’ll meet
at the reception desk. Part of that smile is because she loves her
job as a patient care coordinator, which she has held since 1994
and is something her degrees in
psychology and human services have prepared her well for. The other
part? She gets to hang with Mr. Beans all day. Since 2002, Jody has relished her time as a veterinary assistant, enabling her to care for the companion animals that gives so much back to us. For two of those years she also worked as a patient care coordinator, ensuring that the clinic’s reputation for exceptional service and care is well-deserved. “This is the best job I ever had,” says front desk greeter and watchdog, Mr. Beans, who gets to meet and welcome everyone who walks in. “In all my years, here, there wasn’t anyone I sniffed who I didn’t like,” he proclaims. Now that’s job satisfaction.
As the clinic’s head technician, Heidi has worked in veterinary medicine since 1987 and has been with Edgewood Animal Clinic since 1994. To this deep experience she adds her ever-widening skillset in pet animal behavior relating to the human-animal bond, veterinary dentistry, surgery, and laboratory skills through continuing education coursework.
Cayla’s love for animals developed as she was growing up in the countryside.
She is thrilled to now be working with caring doctors and a vibrant
staff caring for the community’s beloved companion animals. She has
worked in veterinary medicine since 2001 and at Edgewood since 2004
and loves every minute of it.
Katie is the doctors’ right-hand woman, assisting them with surgery,
running monitoring and support equipment, doing labwork, maintaining
treatment records, and ensuring the practice is well-supplied. Of course,
working with great co-workers also highlights her days, as well as
the chance to delve into her special area of interest: animal dentistry.
A life-long love for animals is what drew Victoria to veterinary care.
As veterinary assistant on her way to becoming a certified technician,
she ensures that the facility and equipment are sterile, animals are
safe and happy, the doctors and technicians have what they need to
provide the very best care, and that clinic clients understand home
care procedures.
